Fill in the online Form
To join Borrow It! you will need to complete the on-line form and send in ID and proof of address. If you wish to have the free membership you will also need to send in something from your social landlord.
The Online Form
This asks you for your name, email, phone number and address. We also collect information about your tenure, ethnicity and age. This is because we are funded by organisations who want to know we are representative of the communities we work in – we hope that you provide this optional information so we can evidence the work we do .
ID and Proof of Address
After you have completed the online form, please send in photos of your ID and proof of address. We use Google Forms for this because it is secure and encrypted. Please don’t send this information by email. Your documents are not kept – they are deleted shortly after we verify them.
Free Membership
Free membership is available to people living in social housing, or on mean tested benefits. Please send something from your social landlord or benefit agency for this option
Your Monthly Subscription
After you have completed your form and you have sent in photos of your ID and proof of address you will be able to log in to our website. The first time you do this you will be asked to ‘Change Membership/Renew’. This will mean clicking on a long rectangular button. Although this doesn’t say ‘join’ or ‘make a payment’ you will need to select this option and add your debit card details. We use stripe as our payment. There is no contract so you can cancel at any time but please do be like our other members and leave your subscription running for as long as you can to support us.
Not Sure About Joining?
After you have completed the form you may still not be sure about joining. We do try and get in touch with everyone who signs up but don’t complete their membership journey. This is so we can help you over hurdles, or to make sure we don’t keep your data unnecessarily.
